1) the quarterback must lead his team on the field 2) he handles the ball on almost every offensive play 3) he must command the huddle 4) he often answers questions before a play is run 5) he is responsible for team alignment prior to Of course, this is a short list of what he must do in order for the team to experience success. The quarterback must accept and handle this responsibility with great care. The QB has to accept all that is positive about winning and success, and all that is negative about losing. This is not necessarily what is given to the quarterback, but it is what he must endure. It is imperative that he absorb his responsibilities to prevent adversity from disrupting the team. He has to be the buffer of everything in order for his teammates to be focused on their responsibilities. It takes a special, strong person to place himself in this position. Popps QB Tutor was established to help athletes master the physical aspects, techniques and mechanics, of the position. It is the aim of the tutor, Coach Popp, to have each QB physically equipped with the movements and mechanics of the game. This will ensure that they are a natural part of his play. There isn't any time to think about the techniques during play. As a matter of fact, there is not much time during the season for the QB to focus on these mechanics and techniques. They have to be a part of him prior to the season. Every QB must have mastered the physical aspects of the game in order to be mentally prepared to lead his team into battle week after week. |
